Everyone can thank our good friend Rachel for finally pushing us to get this post up. Of course, you can't really blame Stephanie since she's been telling me for a month or more that it was my turn to post. Oh well... I guess it's better late than never huh. Ten days in Alabama seems like a long time to spend with your in-laws but for us it was a really fun time. Part of it could have been that Bro. David and Sis. Laura had to work during the day every week day which allowed Stephanie and me to spend some alone time, but whatever the reason, we had a blast. While there I took the time to paint some of their house but Stephanie and I also went into Atlanta for a day as well as Birmingham for a day. We did all kinds of fun stuff so I'll let the pictures tell the story. Enjoy! Now everyone was asking us before we went what we were going to do with our cat. Well, we actually decided to take Noel with us and she was quite a trooper. For about the first fifteen minutes of the trip she meowed and made a racket but after a little bit she calmed down and just sat back and enjoyed the trip. She'd go from the back of the car up to Stephanie's lap and then back to her box again. I think she slept most of the trip but since she sleeps most of the day anyways, it didn't really bother her normal routine to much.
In Birmingham we went to a place called the McWane science center. They had all kinds of cool exibits and we came up with some pretty wacky pictures there. Along with the exibits, Stephanie and I saw an IMAX film entitled "The Alps". It was pretty interesting and it is always neat seeing an IMAX film just because the screen is so huge that it entirely fills your vision.
Probably one of our favorite things while we were out at both Atlanta and Birmingham was getting to stop at the Cheesecake Factory. Neither Stephanie or I had eaten their before and we were really wondering what it was like. Well we found it and were amazed by how good everything was... especially the cheesecake! Each time we went Stephanie and I split a cheesecake so we got to try two different cheesecakes over the course of our trip. Wonderful!
Along with everything else, our last Friday night there Stephanie and I went with Bro. David & Sis. Laura to the Medieval Times dinner show in Atlanta. It was cool because it was attached to a large mall that had a Bass Pro Shop along with all kinds of other shops. We had lunch at the mall and browsed the shops then went to the dinner show before driving back home. It was lots of fun and we really enjoyed our time there.
So those were the main things we did on our trip. As always, even though you really enjoy the vacation it's always nice to come back to your normal routine so I was really glad to get back home. Hopefully you won't have to wait so long for a new post. TTFN! --Harry-- |
